Emory Douglas became an influential force within the Black Panther Party. Douglas’ images were printed in the newspaper, The Black Panther. His depictions of African Americans as revolutionary fighters, instead of victims, and illustrations of pigs in place of police and politicians made Douglas a hero to his community and a subject of an investigation by the United States government.
