Augmented Reality the Future of Art & Design?

Augmented Reality is defined as “…an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory.” The banal explanation is AR focuses on taking the power and connectivity of the internet with interactivity present in our smartphones. The main interface for these interactions would be aided by the use of wearable technology like Smart Glasses. Everyone has heard of Google Glass but there are new Smart Glass technologies being developed everyday companies such as Apple and Microsoft have entered the market with their HaloLens and (rumored) Apple Glass. In this short video, I showcase some examples of augmented reality expression that I thought was pretty impressive.
